A battle she chose to share… On Sunday, June 25, 2023, Sarah Ferguson confirmed in a statement that she had undergone surgery for breast cancer. A year later, she was diagnosed with skin cancer. “When you are told you have cancer, you can’t help but think it’s a death sentence. Your mind drifts to the darkest places, and you wonder what the future holds and how you are going to share the news with your family,” she confided to The Sun on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

She had almost missed her appointment, reluctant to travel to central London due to the extreme heat. She added, “It was only when I mentioned it in passing to my sister Jane, who had called me from her home in Australia, that she switched into authoritative elder sister mode and insisted that I go. That check-up and the treatment I received saved my life.” Since then, the Duchess of York has been encouraging as many people as possible to attend their medical check-ups.

Sarah Ferguson: "I Am So Happy to Have Found Zoul"

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Prince Andrew’s ex-wife promoted the guided meditation feature of the Zoul app and shared the impact it had on her. As the mother of two daughters—Beatrice (36) and Eugenie (34)—and grandmother to four grandchildren—August (4), Sienna (3), Ernest (1.5), and Athena (3 weeks)—as well as step-grandmother to Wolfie (9), she made a rare comment about her deepest fears.

Although she is doing much better today, Sarah Ferguson fears she may not live to see them all grow up. “I was diagnosed with breast cancer, then malignant melanoma. I kept wondering whether I would get to see my grandchildren, whether I would get to see my children, and that’s why I am so happy to have found Zoul,” she shared.

Sarah Ferguson: "I Had to Use All My Strength"

Speaking candidly, the aunt of Princes William and Harry explained, “My father died of melanoma, and my best friend died of melanoma. I had to use all my strength, my mental awareness, and I really had to go deep within myself to find the strength.”

On social media, Sarah Ferguson received an outpouring of support from her fans. “You are so brave. Thank you for sharing this with us,” one message read. “We love you, Sarah. Please never stop being an inspiration,” said another. “You are so special and so strong! An incredible example for all of us!”
